Welcome,
I’m a Chicago theatre artist, working as an actor, director, improvisor, fight choreographer, and teacher.
Originally from Brewer, Maine, Alek was bit by the performance bug at a young age and carried that passion through to college where he received a BFA in Theatre with a focus in Acting from Barry University. While in college he worked throughout South Florida with City Theatre, Mad Cat Theatre, Project [Theatre], Verve Central, and the Naked Stage. He returned to his hometown to work at the Penobscot Theatre Company for several years before moving to Chicago in 2019. Since arriving in the windy city, he has busied himself learning improv at iO and The Annoyance. He is an ensemble member at The Lightbulb Factory. When he has time in the day, he is a proud instructor at Ovation Academy for the Performing Arts and Bravo! Performing Arts in Oak Park.

I produce and direct A Beautiful Night in Our Neighborhood, a monthly variety show about celebrating the good things we have all around us ever day in our own backyards. A panel of remarkable comedians, actors, musicians, and artists join me onstage for sketch, music, and games all focused on the great city of Chicago.
I am now an ensemble member of The Lightbulb Factory, one of my favorite companies I’ve had the great joy to collaborate with over the past few years
